Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has rolled out fresh regulations for foreign individuals eyeing work opportunities in Canada through the Digital Nomad Visa Programme, according to a report by VisaGuide on Friday.
Under these updated guidelines, foreigners can enter Canada for remote work as digital nomads, even while holding a visitor visa.
Additionally, if successful in securing employment with a Canadian employer, they have the option to obtain a work permit.

Digital nomads must have visitor status, allowing them to relocate to Canada for up to six months. During this period, they can engage in remote work for an international employer, be self-employed, or offer services to clients outside of Canada.
While digital nomads entering Canada are exempt from holding additional documents, family members planning to work or study in the country must apply for separate work or study permits.
The IRCC emphasizes that securing a work permit is a prerequisite for digital nomads intending to work for a Canadian employer. According to the IRCC, digital nomads are individuals eligible to work remotely from any location worldwide, requiring only visitor status to stay in Canada for up to six months while engaging in remote work.
