Former Australian cricketer and commentator Michael Slater has been placed in police custody following charges of common assault and stalking.
The 54-year-old faces over a dozen offenses, including unlawful stalking or intimidation, assault, and breaking into a dwelling with intent at night. The alleged incidents occurred between December 5 last year and April 12 this year on the Sunshine Coast.
Slater’s case was brought before the Maroochydore Magistrates Court in Queensland, with no identified victim mentioned in the report.

Local police confirmed his arrest after alleged domestic violence incidents spanning several days in Noosa Heads.
In addition to the initial charges, Slater also faces accusations of breaching bail and contravening a domestic violence order.
He remains in custody, with his case scheduled for further mention in court on Tuesday.
Having debuted during the 1993 Ashes tour, Slater enjoyed a successful cricket career, playing 74 Tests and 42 ODIs for Australia before retiring in 2004. He later transitioned to a prominent TV commentary role.
