ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend as the 100-index took a dip of 444.91 points, marking a negative change of 0.63 percent. The index closed at 70,657.64 points, compared to the previous day’s 71,102.55 points.
During the trading day, a total of 436,993,041 shares were traded, valued at Rs 19.024 billion. This was a decrease from the previous day’s trading volume of 560,552,783 shares valued at Rs 25.730 billion.
In total, 365 companies participated in the stock market activities. Of these, 103 recorded gains, while 234 sustained losses. The prices of 28 companies remained unchanged.
The top three trading companies were K-Electric Limited, WorldCall Telecom, and the Bank of Punjab.
K-Electric Limited traded 30,103,286 shares at Rs 4.23 per share, WorldCall Telecom traded 25,120,582 shares at Rs 1.26 per share, and Bank of Punjab traded 20,168,992 shares at Rs 4.90 per share.

Sapphire Fibres Limited experienced the highest increase in share price, with a rise of Rs 56.42 per share to close at Rs 1,479.75.
Following closely, Khyber Tobaco Company Limited saw a rise of Rs 20.25 per share, closing at Rs 290.29.
On the other hand, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited witnessed the maximum decrease in share price, dropping by Rs 717.85 to close at Rs 19,282.15.
Hallmrk Company Limited followed with a decline of Rs 86.15 per share, closing at Rs 1,062.97.
