Dairy Farmers Karachi President Mubasher Qadeer Abbasi has issued a stark warning: brace yourselves for a hike in milk prices. With a potential increase of Rs. 50 per liter looming, consumers in Karachi may soon feel the pinch in their pockets.
Abbasi pointed to several factors driving this anticipated surge. He highlighted the soaring expenses in milk production, exacerbated by the escalating costs of cattle and a lack of attention from the government.
Urging prompt action, he called upon the Karachi Commissioner to swiftly issue a notification reflecting the new prices in alignment with production costs.
Failure to address these concerns by May 10 could prompt drastic measures. Abbasi hinted at a collective decision among stakeholders to unilaterally raise prices if official action is not taken promptly.
This warning comes on the heels of recent notifications from the Karachi Commissioner aimed at regulating the prices of essential commodities.
