Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, announced the imminent introduction of electric buses onto Lahore’s streets.
This announcement came during the inauguration of the revamped Shahdara Metrobus Station in the provincial capital.
Emphasizing the importance of public transport in curbing environmental pollution, CM Punjab also inspected the newly designated counter for female passengers and instructed staff to deliver exceptional service to all commuters.
She received a briefing on the station’s renovation before boarding the metro bus to Gaddafi Stadium.
During the visit, Transport and Mass Transit Authority Secretary Ahmed Javed Qazi updated the CM on the metro bus’s significant daily ridership, which includes over 176,000 passengers overall and 25,000 from the Shahdara station alone.
